4.How did you use media terminologies in the construction and research. planning and evaluation stages.

While is was creating my Music I use a variety of different types of technology and ideas that I got from my research and planning that I did before my group started creating the actual music video which was based around our chosen genre Indie Rock.

         

 

 

The technologies that I have used to create my music video was a tripod and camera this enabled my group to capture every shot of our music video and the tripod allowed us to create s still shot without the camera being shaky, this enabled all our shots to be perfectly still and look more professional to people watching the music video.  The other technology that we used to create the music video is a fig rig, the fig rig is a piece of the technology that allows you to creature hands held that allows you to capture movement because it allows you to move while holding it, this helped us to film the running scene where the lead singer lip syncs at the same time as running from one place to another.

 

The research and planning posts allowed the group to get a basic idea about what our music video is going to be based on this enabled us to plan what we were going to film and where we were going to film. we used a variety of different equipment during out planning and research posts to enable us to understand what kind of techniques that we have used for example we created a green screen video to we walk 500 miles to enable us to get an understanding on how we can use the green screen in our own music video

 

 

during the planning posts we were able to understand how to use Photoshop, this enabled us to understand the ways in which we could use Photoshop to help us to create our ancillary tasks, we used photo shop the piece together images from different places and from different places and we took our own images to make sure that we create it ourselves, we used the different layers in Photoshop to enable us to be able to create our CD cover and our Advert.

In the lesson we had a tutorial on how to take an image from a camera upload the images onto photoshop, then delete the background and add a different background. the cd cover above shows what we got taught in lesson. we took an image or me and jamie and then afterwards, we uploaded the images from the camrea to iphoto on the mac computers, we went onto photoshop and went file new and changed the size of the canvas to make it suitable and the right length and width for a cd cover. we then took the images from iphoto and draged them into our photoshop camvas. we then used the magic wand tool to delete the background off the imaged so all that was left mine and jamies photos. we then took an image from google that fitted with out theme of indie rock really well and placed the in photoshop in a layer that is different because the layer would be behind the previous image, like shown above of me and jamie sitting on the bench we just took an  image from google and moved it around show it would look like out type of theme, for the back of the cover we picked to use the photo of me looking down so it would look like that I am looking down and we used it so it looks like that I am looking at the song titles.

ADVERT AND CD COVER  

Now moving on to the advert and the CD cover as shown in the top left hand corner of the screen you’re able to see my advert and in the top right hand corner you are able to see my CD cover.

As shown in this cover my cover and advert both meet because the conventions are that they are eye catching and stand out to the audience and are different from other CD covers and adverts. 

As shown my CD cover and Advert are different because the theme of the Advert is a chalk and as shown everything that is on the CD cover is created out of chalk and this is different from other adverts because as shown below. 

 

This CD cover shows the bad members on the front and on the next video this shows the album cover as the advert cover,

Even though our advert cover is similar to the CD cover you the only difference is that there are images of the band members on them and on each layer of the cover your able to see the band members.

But the advert and the cover have the same theme because they both have the chalk and chalkboard theme. As shown on the advert your able to see that all the writing on the background done in chalk and in the chalk theme and the colours of the triangles match with the colours of the chalk on the back ground.  

Compare to an existing advert, in this advert your able to see a range of different shots, your able to see the shot of the band together and then in the middle your able to see a bird image, the colours used are a dark green colour and comparing to our advert there is a bright colour advert. 

The cd cover compared to ours is different because our advert is bright colours like this cd is bright like ours but the cover instead of having the band members on the front you have an cartoon image of different coloured people this is the make the cd cover look more interesting and to look more eye catching. 

evaluation 1

I will be looking at my music video, advert and CD cover and I will be comparing it to existing music videos and adverts and I will be comparing the conventions to see if my music video that I have created meets the typical conventions. As shown the convention is to have shots of the band lip syncing, as shown in my music video there is a shot of the whole band together and this shot is shown through a Mid shot of them running towards the camera

This shot is in a typical music video because even though the shot is a running shot they have a shot where the band is altogether in the shot and they are lip sinking. this shot is like the franz ferdinade shot because they are all in the shot and they are all doing the same thing. this is a convention because the conventions are in the music video your able to see the whole band together and your able to see the singer lip syncing at the same time while also the band member can also be seen lip syncing throughout the music video to allow it to make more sense. 

As shown in this Franz Ferdinand music video there is a shot where they are all playing guitar and a shot where they are all together and this is shown as an mid shot because even though you can see the band you are able to see the location that they are placed in.

Also we as shown in this music video they have filler shots which are shots where the band are not in them and shots of random shot that fit with the music video. this means that even though they are not shown performing your able to see the band together and acting within the frame to all you to easily see  them, but this shot is a filler shot where the music and singing are still played but your only able to see them acting within the scene itself.  

As shown in our music video we have shots of the are band in the snow and breaking the snowman this shot relates to the theme of the music video because the shots of the band having fun and enjoying themselves. this shot shows enjoyment because the shot is a close up of jamie jumping at the snowman and breaking it and this shows enjoyment because youth finds enjoyment out of breaking something and then putting what they broke back together.

The Filming Process

These images show the progress that was used to create the Music video, the images shows the group using the camera and tripod to film the different parts of the music video. to film our music video we used a variety of equiptment, as shown in the images we used a tripod to capture all the lip sink shots and to create the shots that were still images. we used the HD camera to film all our shots because the HD camera gave all the shots a much better quiality to the shots and to make them look professional, we used the figrid to create all the shots that need movement in them, like the shots that involved the band images of them running towards the camera and at the same time lip sinking.
